In the Spring of 2012, my wife and I headed out to a small island in the south of the Philippines. Though my wife had been previously, this was my first time. After spending two weeks in Burgos with the incredible staff at Hope for the Island, it was unfortunately time to leave.
My autumn was spent sifting through the dozens of hours worth of footage, attempting to piece together an edit that would help Hope for the Island visually communicate how they serve the people of Siargao Island. As this was done in the hours outside of paid work, it wound up taking until the end of 2012.
Below are the two different videos: A fifteen minute version with much more information and a shorter, six minute version for those with less time to spend watching another video 🙂
Thank you to Derek, Jenn, Makana, Brison and all the other staff at Hope for the Island. Your hospitality and love for those around you is inspiring.
